Assistantposition available at ourWaconia campus. The shift we have availableis every-other weekendfrom 7:30am-11:30am.This part-time shiftis great for individuals that enjoy doing activities with seniors. No experience is necessary as we have a great training program!

As the Activity Assistant you will join in the fun by helping out with games, assist with planning exciting events for residents to join in and socialize, help provide a healthy lifestyle and social interactions, and maximize our commitment to being part of a community and providing the best possible care to our residents.

We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who will assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors.

  • Perform assigned work routines and daily assignments to meet the psychosocial and activities needs of residents and the Household, including creating diverse opportunities for meaningful pursuits, daily pleasures, recreation, exercise, friendships, social interaction, growth and learning, fun and enjoyment, personal routines, spontaneous activity and Household rituals.

  • Assist residents with activities of their choice, group, individual or one on one.

  • Take residents outdoors, or out in the facility community and participate in outings and special events, as well as provide for resident leisure life activities.

  • Collaborate with households and campus staff related to large campus events, shared equipment etc.

    Qualifications

    1. High School Diploma or related
    2. Able and willing to work flexible hours such as during evenings and weekends for planned programs.
    3. Demonstrated enthusiasm, initiative and good rapport with residents, staff, families and volunteers.
    4. Demonstrated compatibility with AHS's mission and operating philosophies.
    5. Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
