Controller

New Orleans area consumer loan financing company with multiple locations, seeks a highly motivated Controller to oversee and handle all accounting functions. The ideal candidate must possess a positive personality, be results oriented, have 5 to 10 years’ experience as a Controller, or Accounting Manager, be a self-starter, possess proactive traits, and computer skills. Having a background or experience in banking/consumer loan financing industry is a plus. Some of the tasks and responsibilities of this position include:

Oversee and participate in the preparation of timely monthly financial statements, general ledger, and related bank reporting.

Oversee monthly accounts payable.

Oversee payroll and employee benefits.

Compliance with banking/lending industry regulations.

Perform daily cash management and monitoring.

Review controls and procedures in place at all company locations and strengthen or improve as needed.

Analysis of expenses/cash flows to assist with increasing company profitability and decreasing waste.

Liaison with outside professionals (CPA, attorneys, banks, insurance agents, etc.)

Work closely with owners on company financial and operational matters

Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, have a degree in accounting or finance (CPA a plus), be organized, flexible, and possess leadership abilities.
