job summary:

Position Description (VPC Developer) The Application Developer provides significant contributions in the design, coding, testing, support and debugging of new software or enhancements to existing software. You will be responsible for creating and influencing innovative solutions that meet not only functional requirements, but also Quality of Service technical requirements for performance, scalability, security, reliability, etc. Our ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who loves ownership and responsibility while working in a collaborative and interdependent team environment. You will work closely with business systems analysts, architects and other developers on applications used enterprise-wide.

Qualifications
  • No less than 5 years hands-on development experience with core Java, J2EE (Servlets, JSP, JDBC, JMS, Spring MVC, JPA, Hibernate, Log4J)
  • Experience with Web front end design/development (JSP, JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS3)
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills for Java, JavaScript, Spring, Hibernate, and SQL, in particular using and IDE such as Eclipse and Oracle Developer
  • Experience developing Maven-based applications
  • Good working knowledge of version control tools such as SVN and Git
  • Exposure to Jenkins build management and troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding of design patterns ( GOF patterns, and preferably other Design/Architecture/Infrastructure patterns), as well as refactoring
  • Solid understating of MVC and other front end design patterns
  • Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services, in particular designing/developing web service APIs
  • Experience with Apache CXF
  • Familiarity with Oracle WebLogic Application Server (Admin Console, configuration, runtime)
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Coherence
  • Experience with single Sign-On (SAML)
  • Web service authentication with oAuth 2.0
  • Experience with SQL development on an Oracle Database
  • Proficiency with Unix/Linux commands, shell scripts, and applications
  • Debugging and troubleshooting skills for issues in SIT/UAT/CAP/PROD environments
  • Experience working with integrated teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with WAR file deployment in WebLogic Admin Console
  • Ticket/Change Request creation and follow up with ServiceNow
  • Experience with offshore coordination

  • Works with onshore and offshore teams to meet and deliver planned releases in an Agile environment
  • Gains business domain knowledge/expertise and application know-how by working with business and technical teams
  • Collaborates with other developers, as well and technical leads, architects, business requirement analysts, QA and Performance testers, and project managers
  • Provides significant contributions developing solutions, as well as resolving business client questions, problems, and addressing enhancement needs
  • Uses technical knowledge, creativity and company practices, guidelines, and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems
  • Interacts directly with offshore developers and business clients
  • Serves as a mentor to lower level developers
