  • Seeks bid opportunities through a variety of sources and develops relationships with key customers and vendors.
  • Analyzes drawings, specs and related documents to perform clearly detailed takeoffs. Submits financially profitable, and clearly detailed bids to customers, meeting all deadlines for bid submission.
  • Understands contractual language and consults with appropriate employees to ensure client meets all requirements.
  • Collects and organizes vendor quotations and negotiates to ensure quotes meet contract documents.
  • Tracks field scheduled to find gaps in work and bids filler work if necessary.
  • Reviews completed projects to verify labor, material, equipment and time budgets were accurate and adjusts multipliers accordingly for subsequent bids.
  • Creates and presents reports to upper management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Ability to interpret specs, periodicals, bid invitations and perform takeoff
    • Architectural sheet metal and ACM estimating experience.
    • Ability to meet bid deadlines.
    • Strong organization and documentation skills, strong math skills (plane, geometry, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations, etc).
    • Ability to manage multiple concurrent goals.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS Talking in person and by phone, use of hands, fingers, hearing, use of computer, vision, depth and color perception, ability to adjust focus Occasional jobsite visits: loud, high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, working near moving parts and heavy machinery and fumes. Distance, depth and color perception is necessary

    LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS Construction Terminology Able to read, analyze and interpret periodicals, business journals, specs, plans Able to professionally address government officials, understand and enforce safety regulations and laws with employees. Able to present information to top management, general contractors, public groups.
