Payroll Clerk

DescriptionSupport the Payroll department as a Payroll Clerk at a growing company in the Printing/Publishing industry Accountemps has partnered with, based in the Norfolk, Virginia area. This challenging position calls for a candidate with a strong sense of initiative looking to advance their career path and work alongside an industry leader. The position's responsibilities include being able to effectively communicate with the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk's duties will include data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is a short-term temporary employment role.Your responsibilities in this roleData entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

Organize data into spreadsheets and the payroll system

Run and build custom reports

Craft and deliver training to employees on the use of proper payroll practices, including timesheet entry and online methods of accessing pay statements

File, scan, fax, and perform other clerical duties as required

Contact employees via email and phone to obtain timesheet approvals

Distribute and administer reports as instructed

RequirementsSkillful in learning new processes and systems

Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

Multi-state payroll experience

Microsoft Excel experience

Payroll systems for 100-500 employees experience

Garnishments payroll experience preferred

Prior knowledge in Payroll software

3+ years of previous payroll experience
