Make It With Pride.As the Shopper Research Expert, they will embed a shopper research planning process and cycle to identify what are the gaps by interfacing with internal stakeholders by listening to their needs, translate those needs into tangible shopper research goals, prioritizing the goals based on variety of metrics, & informing stakeholders on those prioritized goals.The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience in previous roles presenting to senior stake holders at retail customers, specifically in the US and have experience commissioning and executing custom shopper research with excellence so that he/she can translate that experience into immediate tangible deliverables. This includes identifying a roster of best-in-class research agencies, developing detailed RFPs for these agencies, select best agencies to partner with, and guide the agencies to achieve excellence of execution (qualitative, quantitative research methods) with a keen focus on visually appealing storytelling outputs that inspire action when sharing outputs with various stakeholders within Mondelēz US business unit.The Shopper Research Director will work closely with his/her team of senior shopper research managers to enable a smooth execution of the same. They will drive best practice approaches, lift and apply learnings across various Customer Teams, build capability and understanding across Customer Teams whilst collaborating with broader Sales Org Stakeholders such as Customer Development, Category Management, Customer Teams, Shopper Marketing, and Space Merchandising Teams. They will also ensure that Shopper outputs inform and shape retail environment understanding and incorporate it into category, retail, and customer strategies.Shopper Insights & Category Advisor : Stay abreast of retail industry trends, competitive CPG trends, and broader consumer trends that can impact Mondelēz. Analyze competitive insights from cross-functional, multi-national sources across the company and translate it to meaningful implications and actions. This position will lead shopper-focused business analysis, insight discovery, and strategy development to support Mondelez International’ and customer’s business objectives for customer teams and the category advisor teams. This is achieved, primarily, through application of analytical and insight tools to business issues. This position is further differentiated from SI manager positions by providing thought leadership to the Sales Organization and customers on the identification of growth opportunities. The Director has in-depth knowledge of customers and the buying dynamics and motivations of their shopper. This position plays a leadership role in category management initiatives, conducting category management reviews, analyzing business issues, and providing business insights and recommendations to improve business results. The position has shared accountability for business results and building and developing a team of SI professionals along a functional/technical career track. The Director excels in the integration of customer, consumer, and shopper/consumer information to build knowledge and insights that can be used to improve business performance. The Director will also demonstrate an ability to manage and develop people through coordination of business information application and insight development planning and training, continually working to improve the value of shopper insights to the Company along with responsibility for personnel development and career planning.Bachelors Degree required; Masters in Marketing Research a strong differentiator & a plus.

12 to 15 years consumer package goods industry experience; with at least 3-5 years of direct people management experience

Working with Walmart, Dollar General, Kroger, Costco, Sam’s Club and Retail/Operations experience is a plus.

Strong problem-solving capability, i.e., identify what’s the problem to solve before executing

Strong quantitative analysis (syndicated data knowledge) and custom research experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint) required with a heavy focus on storytelling, synthesizing insights from primary research, secondary sources, and syndicated sources.

Develop best practices in the most common shopper research methods, from questionnaire to output and activation of that output. Advance organizational capabilities in this area by investigating new and emerging methods including mobile in-store surveys and video shopalongs.

Experience leading/facilitating collaborative activation workshops with cross functional partners.

Lead Capability building sessions on key topics across US Sales Org

Expertise in consumer and shopper platforms such as Source of Volume, Trial & Repeat, Buyer Conversion, Consumer Segmentations, and Market Basket Analysis.

Able to demonstrate a strong understanding and application of analytics and shopper insights and leverage best demonstrated practices.

Demonstrated ability to uncover strategic opportunities for growth.

Demonstrated ability to influence business partners through integrated view of the business and application of business judgment.

Able to develop consumer insights and apply those insights to drive business results.

Strong industry / sales knowledge with emphasis on category and space management.

Solid organization, project management, time management, and planning skills.

Strong written / oral communication skills.

Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment with a keen focus on achieving work/life balance.

People management experience and skills.

Strong informal leadership style leaning toward emotional intelligence & creative problem solving
