Brief Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is to maintain the physical integrity of the community. This involves ensuring a safe, secure and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors and staff. The Maintenance Technician will carry out assigned duties in a safe manner and other duties as requested by the maintenance supervisor.
Job Duties
Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair, as directed, involving the following on a daily basis:
Electrical and plumbing
A/C and heating systems
Appliances
Water irrigation systems (where applicable)
Stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings
Tile, carpet, flooring
Roofing, gutters, fasteners
Interior/exterior lights
Fireplaces, ceiling fans
Gas fixtures and appliances (where applicable)
Shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors
Boiler, gas and electric
Door locks, P.O. boxes and locks
Security systems (where applicable)
Ceiling leaks
Walls
The Maintenance Technician will also be called up on to:
Inspect and help coordinate all needed make-ready repairs and services
Complete make-ready units required to meet move in deadlines
Change locks and make keys
Remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage area to apartment (or vice versa) as circumstances warrant
Assist in moving abandoned furniture, appliances, etc., to dumpster when necessary
Assist in keeping grounds neat and free of litter
Rakes sweep, shovel as circumstances warrant
Qualifications
MUST HAVE FIVE YEARS of experience in maintenance or construction.
Must have own tools, a valid driver's license and a reliable truck to use during work hours (fuel stipend is part of compensation package)
Qualified applicants must successfully complete a drug screen and a background investigation.
Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and will be placed on an on-call rotation for emergency situations
Pay starts at $20/hour depending on experience
