Dulles Glass and Mirror, a leading DC metro area full-service glass and mirror Company is looking for an Assistant Production Manager to help grow and guide our production department.

The Assistant Production Manager, under the direction of the Glass Production Manager, manages the production shift to achieve safety, quality and production goals. The hands-on individual is responsible for overseeing 30+ manufacturing associates, maintaining production schedules, setting and upholding policies and procedures, ensuring quality, and other developmental activities for the technical aspects of the glass fabrication process.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that various aspects of manufacturing run smoothly; raw materials required for production are well stocked and delivered on time and finished products are properly packed and either shipped or stored in warehouses.

Supervise and monitor production set-ups, operations, breakdowns and adjustments according to operation procedures.

Communicate with all other applicable departments regarding problem areas and/or repairs.

Ensure that all production output meets or exceeds defined specifications

Interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting employee performance reviews.

Train, schedule, evaluate and execute improvement plans for all personnel on assigned shifts.

Supervise and monitor the safety and security of assigned personnel and the manufacturing facility.

Educate all personnel on the importance of abiding by all safety rules and regulations and direct the shift to safety in an emergency.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company organizational policies/procedures and applicable laws/regulations.

Responsible for conducting him/herself in a safe manner and adhering to all required safety protocols and policies

Drive the product compliance and knowledge of glass fabrication

May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Requirements:

Minimum two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred for this position.

Strong knowledge of safety and quality methods.

Strong knowledge of production management methods.

Experience in lean manufacturing

Computer knowledge / ability to analyze data in Excel

Supervisory experience and mechanical aptitude required.
