JOB SUMMARY: This e-commerce role is responsible to lead initial project efforts to stand-up an end-to-end e-commerce platform and integrate e-commerce as a new business unit into the fabric of Stater Bros. Markets. Ongoing, this role will lead all e-commerce web and mobile functionality, both owned and affiliated. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining processes and SOP’s for timely and accurate online merchandising, promotions development and execution, and partnering with marketing for online pricing strategy and integrity. This e-commerce role will partner with Retail leadership on e-commerce related operational activities and will engage the vendor community on vendor-funded e-commerce programs directed at growth in sales and profit.Our ideal candidate is a results driven leader and critical thinker having experience in E-commerce and Digital Marketing. Someone with a good understanding of Project Management methodologies and experience in the consumer products and/or Grocery Retail industry is highly preferred.

FUNDAMENTAL JOB TASKS:Initial Project Lead Responsibilities
  • Serve as business owner and partner cross functionally, acting as liaison between our Vendor, Retail, Marketing, and IT teams to define, design and execute web and mobile e-commerce platform functionality with best-in-class user interface and experience for Stater Bros. Markets customers
  • Create and drive the vision, strategy, roadmap and operating plan required to scale online SBM business.
  • Orchestrate the SBM brand experience within the digital marketplace
  • Implement programs and best practices across the business to optimize online operations
  • Provide guidance and strategic direction on new capabilities required to meet e-commerce and marketing business objectives; define the solution to meet these capability needs

Primary Role responsibilities include:
  • Management oversite and build-out of the e-commerce business unit
  • Develop and oversee e-commerce product information governance policies which insure consistency and accuracy across Stater Bros. Markets e-commerce channels, owned and affiliated
  • Engineer, implement and oversee e-commerce product lifecycle business process (additions, enhancements, and deletions) which align with governance policy and quality assurance requirements for asset metadata.
  • Drive initiatives and ongoing processes that optimize digital shelf for discoverability and conversion
  • Maintains cross functional collaboration throughout the organization to insure all aspects of the online product experience are aligned with larger-scale priorities (ads, circulars, digital coupons, seasonal priorities, promotions, coupons, etc.)
  • Develop and implement ways to improve online merchandising, promotional and content management capabilities with existing functionality
  • Create site performance metrics to evaluate performance against forecast
  • Manages content service providers to ensure content is being properly syndicated
  • Accountable for the systems and partners that support online product information, owned and affiliated. (Promotions and price management, asset repositories, product information systems, inventory systems, etc.)
  • Assists with User Acceptance and Quality Assurance testing efforts around the product experience, core site features or customer experience
  • Lead and partner cross functionally to provide ideas on how to improve business processes and make day-to-day business functions more efficient
  • Work closely with all service partners (internal and external) to ensure smooth daily operations for the business; act as the key point of contact for escalations and work with support teams to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Supports other projects and efforts as directed by management

Experience:
  • Ongoing requirements definition and support for web and mobile e-commerce solutions in partnership with Mobile Development and IT team members
  • Track record of proven results in online marketing functions (search, online merchandising, content, navigation, web analytics, e-commerce taxonomy).
  • Grocery Retail experience preferred
  • Proven success influencing and driving results through cross-functional team efforts

Qualifications:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in e-commerce or digital sales/marketing
  • 3 to 5 years of demonstrated success as team leader responsible for employee growth, mentorship and job duty accountability
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing; MBA strongly preferred
  • Technical/Professional capabilities - IRI and Nielson datasets, PIM, DAM, CMS, Analytics, Project Management and Business Analysis methodologies, Category Management principles, presentation skills, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, as well as financial and P&L understanding
  • Sound understanding of master data infrastructure, Data Governance, Data Integrity best practices and e-commerce site taxonomy
  • Ability to handle a significant level of responsibility, oversee projects and work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Superior communication, organization and prioritization skills; ability to communicate and influence at all levels and functions in order to drive partnership
  • Keen attention to detail

REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATION:
  • Qualification in project management or equivalents a plus (i.e. PMI, Six Sigma, or ITIL)
