DevOps Engineer

Must-haves 3+ years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role Experience with infrastructure and software/application configuration management Proficient in PowerShell, Linux Shell, Python, Perl, or other relevant scripting languages Extensive knowledge working with Oracle and SQL databases Extensive experience working in both Windows and Linux server environments Plusses Experience with ADO/TFS Experience using Graylog as an aggregation and event coordination tool Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering Experience working within Commercial IT, ETRM or related fields Day-to-Day An oil and gas employer is looking for a DevOps Engineer in the Houston, TX area. The DevOps Engineer will be part of a team of IT generalists with two other DevOps Engineers that support business-critical applications for the company's Commercial IT organization. . This team coordinates activities initiated either by Enterprise/Infrastructure teams, or by business application IT support teams. The Systems Reliability team maintains system and application integrity through configuration management, by influencing design/architecture, and through process enforcement. This team is currently working towards a goal of streamlined continuous integration to become more DevOps focused. The Commercial IT organization is currently in the process of consolidating their three current ETRM solutions into one, where this engineer will be responsible for build, deployment, and configuration management of related applications and serve as the gatekeeper for code migrations, perform server monitoring, and day to day infrastructure management. Being that this person will be working within Commercial IT, they need to understand that there is "real" factor and strict regulations, so having a keen sense of urgency is absolutely necessary.
