Network Engineer Duties will include (but not limited to) assisting with administration, maintenance and support of various network and telephony technologies; including firewalls, routers, switches, IP tables, VPN, SD-WAN, Cisco Call Manager, Ring Central VoIP, Cisco wireless access points and Ubiquity wireless environments. This is a hands-on position that requires working knowledge of enterprise class infrastructure technologies.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • The Network Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of networks, systems, hardware, software and related infrastructure.
  • Configuring and managing firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access controllers, and other networking devices.
  • Troubleshooting or assists team members with troubleshooting technical problems associated with network hardware, network connectivity, and Data/Voice Latency and performance
  • Installing and Supporting VoIP phone systems including Cisco Call Manager and Ring Central.
  • Work after hours as necessary to minimize business interruptions (system outages, troubleshooting, system upgrades, etc.) and provide non-business hour support (both remote and onsite)
  • Provide Tier 3 support for escalation of Service Desk tickets.
  • Must possess the ability to work well and collaborate with team members and all personnel across the organization.
  • Participate in and/or manage special projects as assigned by Management.
  • Other duties as required.

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • BS/A degree in relevant field, unless there is significant relevant work experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of data center operations and support
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure projects
  • 3-5 years of VoIP experience
  • Strong skill set in Voice technologies to include: Call Manager, Voice Mail, Ring Central, gateways, dial peers, dial plans, and IP Contact Center
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and communication protocols
  • 3-5 years of hands on experience with firewalls, switches, routing, subnets and VLANs
  • 3-5 years of hands on experience with management and monitoring of network resources
  • Skilled in packet capture analysis
  • Deep understanding of NAT, route maps, routing policies, and IPSEC VPN
  • Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must possess organizational proficiencies to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision
  • Must be highly motivated, self-starting, and committed to achieving results and have a strong sense of ownership and follow-through to resolution
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and be able to come up with creative and flexible solutions
  • Ability to describe technical information in easy-to-understand terms
