Healthcare Sr. Accountant

Responsibilities to include:

Working with our billing and collection company to ensure timely processing of healthcare claims to insurance companies and payments received from insurance companies

Downloading and posting insurance billing transactions from the patient case database into the accounting software

Sorting and reviewing patient-related correspondence and payments and forwarding to billing company

Preparing month-end balance sheet and bank account reconciliations

Entry of AP invoices as they are approved for payment

Assisting as needed to provide information to external auditors for quarterly and annual audits

Preparation of correspondence and reports as needed within the department

Maintenance of an orderly accounting filing system

Skills/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Three to five years’ experience in a similar role

Full understanding of GL, A/P, A/R, etc.

Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions

Strong technical skills (comfortable working with various computer programs and applications)

Experience with an ERP software required (NetSuite preferred)

Experience with insurance billing (preferred)

Multi-entity experience (preferred)

Must be well organized and very detail-oriented

Must be a team-player who is also comfortable working independently

Should be a self-starter who proactively seeks out ways to contribute

Excellent communication and presentation skills
