Staff Accountant

Position: Staff Accountant

Full-Time, Salaried, Monday – Friday

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our HP Civil team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounts payable

Subcontractor compliance & payments

Prepare financial statements on monthly basis

Month-end accounting reconciliations

Prepare and post general ledger journal entries

Prepare tax & audit files for CPA filings

1099’s & tax filings

Maintain asset schedule & depreciation

Assist answering phone lines & filling in for payroll/HR as needed

Duties & responsibilities as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 5 years accounting experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred

Proficient knowledge of GAAP

Experience with Vista by Viewpoint and Crystal Report highly desirable

Background in construction accounting preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Accurate and efficient

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Highly organized and detail-oriented; must be able to multitask and manage multiple deadlines

Ability to work with confidential information in a professional way
