Production – Construction/Support Supervisor

Important: Working knowledge of carpentry (construction background) including ability to read a tape measure, cut a straight line, understand materials, tools, and hardware, and a proficiency in shop math required. Manufacturing background is a plus.

Continually growing VT Manufacturing company is in immediate need of a Construction/Production Supervisor to oversee the team in our Support Building. The company is growing quickly with several new positions being created including many opportunities for advancement.

Our production departments are fast-paced environments which means this Supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process. The right candidate must be flexible and able to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

In this role, the Supervisor will oversee a team averaging 7-10 employees and will have no issue getting their hands dirty. They will support the Operations management team by assuring that the department is operated in the most safe and efficient way and by leading the support shop floor efforts to ensure efficiency, accuracy, safety, quality, and team growth.

Their presence on the Support building floor will motivate the team to drive performance and resolve issues as they come up. They will oversee the organization and maintenance of inventory, delegation of daily/weekly tasks, and training new hires. They will promote a clean, safe workspace and compliance with all safety standards and will also oversee the proper care of all materials, tools, and equipment.

Other Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Communicate with Operations management regarding measures to improve safety, QA processes, production methods, and equipment performance.

Receiving: unloading suppliers and stocking accordingly.

Organize resources to produce products according to the current schedule.

Supervise production team members performing production operations.

Train team members on all workflows, procedures, and in the safe, efficient operation of equipment.

Perform other duties as required.

The Candidate:

Organized, self-motivated, level-headed.

Reliable and willing to work OT hours as needed.

Have experience as a leader overseeing, motivating, and driving a team.

Able to work independently without supervision.

Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving issues with ability to make decisions for the best and most cost-effective outcomes.

Able to wear PPE without restrictions and safely lift at least 75 lbs without issue or concern.

Proficient and comfortable with computers. ERP knowledge is a Plus.

Working carpentry knowledge (construction background) including ability to read a tape measure, cut a straight line, understand materials, tools, and hardware. Manufacturing background is a plus.

Proficiency in shop math.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills working with shop floor personnel and other departments.

Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
