- Applies expertise in the technical architecture design, development, delivery and support of software application solutions and system interfaces following departmental standards and best practices
- Develops reports and queries to aid the business and service lines
- Performs and/or assists with required maintenance and upgrades of assigned systems/solutions
- Assists in the evaluation and selection of off-the-the shelf solutions and systems, as well as technologies, and plays a key role in implementation, integration, and maintenance of those systems and technologies.
- Establishes strong working and consultative relationships with business partner and users, vendors and internal staff; collaborates on the design development and delivery of solutions and/or issue resolution to meet business requirements
- Performs routine maintenance and support activities for operational systems as defined.
- Develops estimates for assigned work and manages time and work plans effectively to meet deadlines, providing routine updates.
- Working with extended development team and management, assists in establishment of policies, processes, procedures and standards including coding standards, testing, etc.
- Assist peers in their design and development efforts by being an active participant in code walkthroughs and design reviews
- Performs other duties as required.
- BS from an accredited institution; Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems degree preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered
- ITIL foundation certification a definite plus
- 5-8 years of progressive responsibility and experience in application development and support, with at least 3 years of demonstrated systems analysis and design experience.
- Experience in a healthcare or a financial/supply chain solutions and/or integrations a definite plus
- Demonstrated experience in the definition, design, of web solutions, reporting required.
- Solid understanding and experience in the use of various integration services and protocols
- Demonstrated experience in interacting with databases in the development of application, integration and reporting solutions
- Experience with application servers / containers
- Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of structure software development and support lifecycle disciplines
- Good communication and listening skills, with an ability to translate business requests and requirements into proposed technical solutions
- Understands the need to balance technical solutions with practical business needs and short term vs long term approaches
- Strong collaborator and team player, with the ability to partner well with users, peers, internal and external/vendor partners and management
- Motivated, self-starter, self-directed, results-oriented
- Web application development: Java/JEE v8/11, JSF / PrimeFaces and C#, .Net core; Javascript, jQuery and Vue; HTML5 and CSS
- Integration development: Java v8 and Groovy services; key protocols/frameworks: SOAP, REST, TCP, SFT, HTTP/S, HL7, and X12
- Database and report development: MS SQL Server and Oracle; DDL/DML; SQL to develop queries, stored procedures, reports and analytics
- Operating systems: Unix/Linus and Windows
- Web servers/application containers: Weblogic, Apache, Tomcat, IIS
- Mule Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
- Oracle ERP (Fusion)
- Oracle and MS SQL Server databases
- Kentico CMS
- Liferay portal
- O365 Sharepoint
- AWS and Azure
