Description Robert Half Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Database Administrator who is proficient at and enjoys solving problems involving multiple layers of complexity. This long-term temporary opportunity for a Database Administrator is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.How you will make an impact- Ensure the design and execution of database server topology, configuration, and maintenance meet SLA objectives- Find the most effective solution for increasing performance, including purchasing hardware and making changes to the server configuration or index/query- Advise on database design, tuning options, and other potential issues- Configure monitoring utilities for databases to keep false alarms to a minimum- Establish the baseline for system performance and detect deviation, suggesting and executing improvements to slow running queries- Restore databases as service outages occur, including after hours and weekends- Manage all database instances across development, staging, and production environments, handling installation, configuration, and maintenance Requirements - Good understanding of relational database management systems- Prior experience adjusting queries to enhance performance- Previous experience with production and on-call environments- 3+ years of database experience- Prior experience building and maintaining documentation- Solid understanding of Azure SQL Database- Command of Microsoft SQL Server- General familiarity with storage and server hardware required Robert Half Technology matches IT professionals with remote or on-site jobs on a temporary, project or full-time basis.
