Job Description

The

EHS Coordinator oversees the environmental, health and safety programs and the Environmental Management System. This coordinator also assists with environmental compliance and conformance and performs or assists with regional EHS training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees the EMS and EHS programs regularly and reports program status to management.
  • Oversee the Food Safety programs regularly and reports program status to management.
  • Provides support for training.
  • Updates properties with updated standards and regulations.
  • Provides corporate manuals and training documents as needed.
  • Guides properties on recordkeeping.
  • Guides properties to mitigate issues and reports deficiencies to management.
  • Participates in the corporate EHS program and EMS management team.
  • Provides support to General Managers with external environmental audits.
  • Consults with government agencies on regional environmental concerns.
  • Knows and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs and policies.
  • Works extra shifts and hours as required.
  • Assists in other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Read, write, speak and understand English effectively.
  • A valid Driver’s License is preferred and may be required.
  • Proficiency in computer programs Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Awareness of environmental and safety regulations.
  • Excellent attention to timely and accurate recordkeeping details.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

  • Must be able to understand normal conversation and accurately communicate information.
  • Ability to stand and walk on paved, unpaved, uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, turn, push, pull, finger, grasp frequently; Reach down, forward and overhead occasionally.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to operate a computer.
  • Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle as required.
  • The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions: Adverse conditions may include extreme heat and/or cold, wind, humidity and sometimes inclement weather.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

  • 2 years of college education in Environmental or Safety Studies or a related field, or two years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of work experience and education required.
  • Associates Degree in a related field highly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory, management, auditing and/or training work experience required.
  • Experience working with government agencies preferred.
  • Awareness of Hospitality/Concession operations preferred.
  • Awareness of Management Best Practices preferred.
