Senior Accountant

Position Summary: This position is responsible for creating journal entry transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and reconciling assigned general ledger accounts. Responsibilities also include cross training for purchasing, payroll processing, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Compiles and maintains various spreadsheets for reconciliation to general ledger and operational analysis. Applies analytical skills to accounting and financial data. Effectively communicates with management regarding problem areas as well as offering possible solutions. Must be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines, in a fast-paced environment, and be able to work extra hours, including weekends as requested.Work Experience: Requires minimum one-year payroll, accounting, financial, or bookkeeping experience.Education, Certification and Licensure: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. Related experience can be used in lieu of education degree. Additional Skills and Knowledge: Must be proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Previous experience with Sage Fund Accounting is a plus. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills; must be proactive in identifying issues and problem solving while in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to pass a criminal background and credit report check. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be detail oriented and proof own work for accuracy. Must have and maintain an excellent attendance record.
