Residential Youth Care Worker- overnight shift

1st shift: 9 AM-9 PM Monday- Wednesday

2nd shift:9 AM- 9 PM Friday- Sunday

Achieving Better Coping Skills LLC is aiming to better the lives of children that are At-risk or Orphaned. We are a life skill and independent living training program based out of Tempe, Az. Our philosophy is simple; If one fails, we all fail. But, success is the only story we are focused on. We want all of our Youth to create goals and aspirations and be able to experience those goals while living here, not just talk about them. Whether it be photography, music, sports, or even Armed Forces, the Big Brothers in our organization help assist these young men in achieving these goals.

Job Description -Residential Youth Care Worker:

ABC Skills is searching for energetic, and dedicated individuals who are willing to support and guide teens and young adults (11 - 18 years old), to provide one on one quality, care to our young adults. The RYCW will provide mentoring, support, and assist our youth. The RYCW mentors our youth with daily activities, resources to education, employment opportunities, behavioral challenges, social activities, etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education

· Must be 21 years of age or older

· Must possess a LEVEL ONE DPS FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE CARD.

· Minimum high school diploma or GED, additional education recommended

· Current CPR and First Aid certifications and CPI (JIREH) restraint training.

· Experience or training/education in caring for children or special populations.

· Knowledge of behavioral health care for children – (i.e. medication reviews)

· A clean MVD driving history for the past 2 years.

· Must be able to maintain alertness at all times.

· Current TB test and a physical showing free from communicable diseases (or within two years)

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Must be willing to attend training and obtain training as required by State requirements.

· Active listening and supportive feedback skills.

· Capable of using good judgment and politeness when dealing with youth, co-workers, and others.
