The Construction Superintendent's Core responsibilities include:

Project and process Management:

Supervising all project subs, vendors, field staff, and security personnel on a daily basis to maintain project quality, cost, schedule, and timely completion

Reviewing Construction Drawings to identify scope gaps/overlap, inconsistencies, missing information, etc.

Performing job progress assessments and reports; developing and managing completion punch list

Assisting in budgeting, bidding, and scope of work for subcontractors; identifying areas of work outside of scope

Presiding at pre-construction meeting with each subcontractor (and subcontractor groups such as MEP subs together)

Opening the jobsite at beginning of the day and securing the jobsite at the end of the day

Quality and Timeliness:

Scheduling subcontractors and vendors; developing, managing, and maintaining a detailed digital master work schedule and weekly 30-day “look ahead” schedules

Quality Control on work being performed, with QC as part of daily reporting

Identifying potential conflict/coordination issues in construction progress and referring them to project team for resolution.

Walking the project(s) daily to monitor activities and inform future planning, and maintaining a written daily log of activities on the jobsite

Scheduling and directing weekly subcontractor meetings to coordinate smooth workflow and progress

Ensuring subcontractors correct identified deficiencie; initiating notices of non-compliance to subcontractors as necessary, and informing Project Manager

Regular communication with the project team on ASI’s, RFI’s, RFP’s and RFQ’s

Compliance:

Coordinating required inspections, and communicating all interactions with representatives of any agency or governmental unit to project leadership

Ensuring subcontractor compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.Maintaining the OSHA notebook documenting safety regulations, daily compliance walkthroughs, weekly safety training, incident log, etc.

Gathering project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the job-site

Ensuring the job site is clean and organized

Assisting in obtaining permits or approval of revisions

Endurance, with the ability to access an entire job site using stairs or other elevated structure

Ability to work 40 hours a week work or more, as necessary to meet responsibilties

Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
