Application Support Analyst on a 12 months renewable contract role in Little Rock, AR.

Position – Application Support AnalystThe IT Application Support Analyst will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the application lifecycle according to standards and using the current best practices. This individual will participate in incident/problem analysis, solution development, action planning, implementation coordination, and evaluation. Roles are sometimes project based, delivering IT change within the business. The IT Application Support Analyst will create, modify and support Oracle Cloud environment, interfaces and reports.This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The following examples are intended only as illustrations of various types of work performed. The Arkansas Department of Transportation is an "at will" employer.• Assist in the planning, design, and development of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.• Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.• Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house systems.• Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.• Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.• Take an active role in cross-departmental projects when needed.• Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.• Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.• Liaise with other IT section personnel to assist in resolving problems with department application systems.• Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.• Write scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary.• Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.• Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.• Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.• Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.• Set and enforce compatibility and interoperability standards that ensure site accessibility for users with older browser versions as well as low-speed connections.• Set and enforce compatibility and interoperability standards that ensure site accessibility for users with older browser versions as well as low-speed connections.• Maintain web system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis and performance tuning, troubleshooting system hardware, software, and operating and system management systems, designing and running system load/stress testing, and escalating application problems to vendor.• Receive and respond to all e-mail messages for the Webmaster in a timely and courteous fashion.• Create and maintain a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document for website users.• Analyze, report on, and take action on website user feedback.• Create original copy for website features where required.Minimum RequirementsEducation and experience: The educational equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field OR the educational equivalent to a high school diploma plus four years of computer related experience. Experience writing, translating and coding applications with C# or Micro Focus COBOL.Net or Visual Basic.Net within the framework of ASP.Net or Java (in relation to Oracle). Experience supporting Oracle, including configurations, reporting and interfaces, or similar software.Knowledge, skills and abilities: Possess basic analytical and problem solving skills. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology. Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Required / Desired Skills
  • 7 years of Application Development experience Required
  • 2 years of IT Application Support in an Oracle Cloud Environment Required
  • 5 years of C# or Micro Focus COBOL.Net or VB.Net within ASP.Net framework or Java (in relation to Oracle) Required
  • 5 years of Oracle Configuration experience Required
  • 5 years of Oracle Reporting experience Required
  • 5 years of Oracle Interfaces experience Required
