Job Description - Director Global Data Governance Pos ition Summary: The Director, Global Data Governance will establish and lead the Data Governance Program to support the full spectrum of Data Governance, Master Data Management and Data Quality. The scope of enterprise data governance includes all global data domains. The scope of the position will require both a strategic and compliance orientation for success. This newly created role with report to the Chief Accounting Officer and have regular interface with the CIO and team, Finance, and business operations leaders. Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish and govern an enterprise Data Governance, Master Data Management and Data Quality implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities across various domains like Customer, Location, Material, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance and HR.
  • Serve as a change agent driving 'data as an asset' culture and set the strategy to monetize this asset
  • Identify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace / represent data as a strategic business asset with Executive Management
  • Roll out of an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data, specifically:
    • Set organization policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, and reporting protocols
    • Data prioritization
    • Establish roles and responsibilities, ensuring clear accountability for stewardship of the company's principal information assets
    • Set data quality measures and rules for control
    • Metadata and data lineage (including associated metadata management tools)
    • Data retention
    • Data security and privacy (working closely with the Information Security and Legal teams)
  • Exhibit strong relationship management skills to ensure data owners, data stewards, and data custodians serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas
  • Work with and closely align with the IT DNA team to help implement best data practices and solutions
  • Resolve conflicting priorities among data owners, data consumers and custodians
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
  • Strengthen accountability and alignment throughout the full data lifecycle through design and implementation of information policy, controls and guidance
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Science or related fie ld.
Job Skills & Experience Requirements:
  • 10+ years' work experience in data governance/management related role collaborating with different parts of the organization; emphasis on developing and implementing data standards, policies, practices, and procedures that lead to substantive improvements in data integrity with large companies working with large scale data.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Data Governance Technology Platform, including two years data quality, data profiling and data stewardship related activities
  • Extensive experience in leading definition, development and operations of data governance processes around following areas: Master Data, Data Management, Data Sourcing, Data Quality, and/or Data Modeling
  • Knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets, and approaches related to data protection
  • Internally and externally recognized subject matter expert that influence the way things are done
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design
