Forklift Driver-Pallet Wrapper-Warehouse work

Summary:

Responsible for moving product from stacker location to wrapper, properly wrapping product, then hauling product safely out of building to put in proper storage location.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Properly wrap products on pallets

2. Stage material in proper locations

3. Safely operate forklift

4. Operate forklifts for minimum wear and tear

5. Properly maintain pallet wrapper

6. Sort fix, and stage pallets in proper locations.

7. Dump bean boxes from bagger area.

8. Report height of pallets to bagger operator.

9. Check number of bags per pallet per product

10. Clean and maintain work areas.

11. Daily checks of dye and oil levels

12. Restock dye and oil totes as necessary

13. Properly mark pallets with shift code/date/pallet number.

14. Cross check bag counts at end of shift and turn into bagger operator.

15. Change bags out on bagger.

16. Aid in pit cleaning and bin exchanging

17. Store and change out bean boxes per production ran.

18. Properly hand stack trailer inventory and turn in counts to supervisor.

19. Start up and end of shift duties performed daily.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Learn basic bagger operation to cover bagger area when needed.

2. Pallet inventory

3. Sorting heat treated pallets from regular pallets

4. Pallet cover inventory

5. Wrap inventory

6. In cold weather, dye room and storage heaters to be blown out and checked to ensure they are running.

If we are down:

When we are down, the first priority is to aid in getting the line back up and running. If the problem is being attended to then work with common sense and fill the duties you are responsible for. Ramp, bliss, and pit areas are always in need of cleaning.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

1. Basic Reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or GED.

2. Operate a forklift

3. Knowledge of proper forklift safety and operation.

4. Maintain and operate a pallet wrapper.

5. Ability to lift 60 pounds repeatedly.

6. Basic forklift maintenance required.

Working Conditions:

Work conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.

Work involves frequent lifting of material up to 60 pounds.

Operation of machinery and tools require the use of personal protective equipment that include but are not be limited to: dust mask, eye safety glasses, hearing protection, and heavy boots.

Temperatures can range from -20°F to 110°F.

Dusty and dirty environment with some chemical handling is required. Flexible schedules will change from slow season to busy season, depending on production needs.

Shift work – days/swing/nights.
