Broekema Beltway USA, Inc., an industry leader in agricultural conveyor belting, is seeking a Receiving/Quality Control Department Lead to join our team!
Job Summary:
Responsible for effective and efficient receipt, quality control inspection, documentation, and appropriate disposition of material for production requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead Receiving department regular and temporary employees, which includes assigning and reviewing work, training personnel, and providing motivation, and coaching
Plan and schedule work flow for department
Unload standard commercial vehicles as well as international cargo containers
Formally receive goods into ERP system as required by company policies and procedures,
Utilize ERP software, including troubleshooting and problem solving any errors and exceptions that revolve around receiving and allocation.
Determine conformance of incoming materials by confirming specifications and recording findings; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
Allocate inbound materials to their proper locations including warehouse and additional locations
Instruct and enforce safety rules and procedures
Maintain open communication with inventory control and manufacturing personnel
Keep area clean and organized
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to effectively work in a Receiving Department that receives domestic and international shipments
Professional experience working in quality inspection and/or receiving. Education may substitute for work experience
Ability to use quality measurement tools such as Electronic Vision System, Calipers, Rockwell testing equipment, scales, and other items
Ability to effectively train receiving and quality control processes to department employees
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
High capacity to organize and prioritize in a fast paced environment
Professional communication (email, phone, verbal) to all levels of organization
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Repackage and preparation of materials for use in production areas, may involve converting measurements between standard and metric versions
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work without direct supervision
Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds on an intermittent basis
Job requires frequent pulling, twisting, bending, reaching, crouching, and lifting
Ability to drive stand up and sit down forklifts
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Personal Protective Equipment:
Safety glasses with side shields are required at all times
Ear protection may be necessary at certain times
Steel toed/safety shoes are required in production and receiving areas
Work Environment
Work is performed in a production setting where one is exposed to noise, fumes, heat, and cold
Fast past / High energy environment
May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shift from one station to another, during production process
Education and/or Experience Required/Preferred
HS diploma or GED required. Technical degree in inventory management or Quality Control is preferred
Previous work experience in a production inventory/warehousing or Quality Control setting is preferred
Previous experience supervising the work of others is preferred
Previous experience in receiving is preferred
Experience driving a Class 1 forklift is required. Will need to become company certified upon hire
