Database Administrator

Description Robert Half Technology has an exciting opportunity with a Financial Services company for a Database Administrator who is proficient at and enjoys solving problems involving multiple layers of complexity. This may be the position for you if you are a skilled problem solver with fine-tuned decision-making abilities. The Database Administrator role is a long-term temporary opportunity and is situated in Providence, Rhode Island.Responsibilities- Handle the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all database instances across development, staging, and production environments- Find the most effective solution for increasing performance, including purchasing hardware and making changes to the server configuration or index/query- Baseline system performance, monitor for deviation, and recommend and implement improvements to slow running queries- Restore databases as service outages occur, including after hours and weekends- Configure database monitoring utilities to avoid false alarms- Advise on database design, tuning options, and other potential issues- Verify that SLA objectives for database server topology, configuration, and maintenance are met in design and execution Requirements - Strong relational database management systems expertise.
