We are looking for Windows VMware Administrator for our client in Plano, TX Job Title: Windows VMware Administrator Job Location: Plano, TX Job Type: Contract Job Description:

  • Perform Engineering and pilot implementation of new technologies introduced through a new architectural solution.
  • Development of a long-range technology roadmap and architecture in all relevant operational technology domains, working with relevant stakeholders.
  • Produce and maintain documentation of the server sub-systems in the data center environment, including as-built documentation, capacity/performance plans, as well as all other areas of server system life-cycle planning.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills, working independently, or with a team to identify the root cause of problems for all assigned hardware and infrastructure.
  • Remain actively involved in projects beyond the architectural definition, providing assistance during the Engineering and Implementation phases.
  • Proactive Problem management.
  • Perform utilization analysis on existing machines and provide suggestions for upgrades and/or replacement.
  • Implementing short/long term plan.
  • Gather feedback on architectural solutions in production to ensure requirements have been met, adjusting designs if required.
  • Monitoring the overall functioning of processes and identifying improvement areas.
  • Actively participate in service improvement plans.
  • Document and train Operations teams to support new deployments.
  • Produce detailed design documents to effectively handover infrastructure build and operations to other engineering teams.
Required:
  • VCAP (VMware Certified Advanced Professional).
  • MCSE (on 2016 and Windows 2019), with expert knowledge of Windows Operating System (Windows 2003, 2008, 2012,2016, 2019).
  • Must have 12+ years’ experience in Windows and VMware system engineering, build automation, scripting, capacity and performance analysis.
  • Must have strong Scripting skills on PowerShell and VMware PowerCLI.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience with installing, configuring and managing C7000 enclosures and blade servers. Administration of HP C7000 blade enclosures, flex fabric and virtual connect.
  • 10 years’ experience with Large Enterprise infrastructure with a focus on Engineering and Operational methodologies.
  • Extensive, real-world experience designing enterprise solutions and defining solution architectures.
  • Cloud integration experience of virtual platforms.
  • Strong experience in cluster methodologies and Hyper-Converged Systems.
  • Experience in multi-data center design and implementation.
  • Ability to provide off-hours and weekend support as well as other duties as required and/or assigned.
  • Strong technical knowledge of four or more VMware products: vSphere, vCloud Suite, vRealize Suite, vRealize Automation (vRA), vRealize Orchestrator (vRO), Horizon View, or VMware Virtual SAN (vSAN).
  • In-depth knowledge of VMWare, HP, Dell, Cisco, and other major vendors of infrastructure technology.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
  • Must be willing to work in a 24x7x365 shift rotation model.
  • Familiarity with public and private cloud computing environments based on VMware, OpenStack, and others.
  • Deployment and operational expertise with Windows, Linux, and VMware.
  • Masters Degree in a relevant discipline (Information Systems, Computer Science, etc.).
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
