- Strong practical experience running initiatives utilizing modern development methodologies such as SCRUM, Agile, Extreme
- Experience with multiple core programming languages such as Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot
- 12-14+ years of experience in a large insurance/financial services organization including 10+ years of experience in a Senior Developer or Architect or Tech Lead role.
- 5+ years of development experience with Java and key Java-based frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, Apache, etc.)
- Experience with multiple application server environments (Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, etc.)
- Deep understanding of SQL and experience with multiple relational or non-relational database platforms such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server,
- Strong experience building RESTful web services
- Familiarity with GitLab, Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines, SOAPUI, Jenkins and SonarQube
- Participate in periodic code reviews with a focus on functional integrity as well as extensibility and scalability
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and guiding developers and being a technical lead
- Collaborate with other developers, business analysts
- Experience delivering projects that leverage enterprise-grade development technologies and frameworks
- Evaluate emerging technologies and work with senior managers/technical leads to drive the adoption of applicable ones within the group
- Experience and appreciation for test automation and continuous integration.
- Good understanding of Quality Assurance standards and best practices
- Ability to clear roadblocks and meet time-sensitive deadlines
- A motivator with an optimistic yet realistic
