ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute programs to ensure that workplace safety standards are met; ensures compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper material flow process from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the production line feed location, to the delivery of finished product to customers
  • Collaborates with client System teams to recommend and implement, Material Flow techniques into production, such as two-bin system, mini market concepts, JIT, JIS as appropriate and based on EMS/MEP principles.
  • Understands and facilitates the use of 5-S processes to ensure the highest safety, quality and consistency are attainable to production.
  • Anticipates engineering changes to ensure ECN instructions are clear and compiled with; works with Planning and Purchasing to stop procurement of material affected by change, keeps Materials supervisors informed of ECN implementation status; coordinates proper rotation of inventory to minimize scrap/reworked parts.
  • Provides leadership and direction to materials supervisors, team leads, clerks, inventory control personnel, and material handlers, including external warehouses.
  • Responsible to apply all the requirements related to EMS/MEP, ISO9000/14000 requirements according to the position.
  • Coordination of local transportation activities related to Anderson Site, with the Transportation support area.
  • Among responsibilities the following environmental information is included, designated but not limited to: Knowledge and comprehension of the plant’s environmental policy, including the established environmental goals, knowing and identifying the environmental aspects and impacts on the area or process to perform, focusing on continuous improvement and keeping operational goals, identifying and segregating chemical residues and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling, warehouse, and material handling operations, methods, and practices.
  • Ability to coordinate with the Transportation area in all material pick up, transfers and deliveries from Local supplier base
  • Ability to develop personnel, including training, and work groups into high performing teams by visible leadership among all levels of associates.
  • Strong knowledge of computer based production scheduling activities with history of development of routings and communication skills to effectively lead change to various processes with no associated production downtime.
  • Knowledge on JDE system is a plus.
  • Experience with lean and process improvement techniques.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment while maintaining professional demeanor.
  • Education: BS degree in Industrial/Operations Management or related business field is preferred.
Previous Experience: +5 years in management in materials and logistics
