Our Polisher position takes rough, scratched, or welded metals, and finishes them to look like casted-quality (never-been-welded) products with consistent polish. We are looking for people that have an eye for visual detail, and take great pride doing detailed work. Skills that may transfer nicely to metal polishing are auto detailing, auto painters, and artists among many other skills.

We are looking for someone who can learn quickly, has a positive attitude, works well in a team, and who is willing to be nimble in doing various tasks to get the jobs done for our customers. Ideal candidates must enjoy working on prototype and pre-production projects, be cooperative in a team environment, and have a great working attitude.

The right candidate will be able to take this role and help strengthen our fabrication process and team.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Carryout production, inspection, and polishing operation duties

Operate basic shop equipment (hand-held power tools or other specialized machines)

Check work orders to determine the type of polishing work that needs to be performed and finish parts by using the right polishing tools and equipment

Set up polishing station in accordance with job to be performed

Maintain dimension, strength, and evenness of surfaces that need to be polished and perform thorough inspections in order to determine issues with quality

Deburr and clean parts as required

Identify hazards and defects that can be fixed through adjustment and repair

Ensure that polishing work remains in compliance with drawings and specifications

Clean and maintain equipment and tools in order to maintain a clean working area

Other Duties as assigned

Additional Job Requirements:

Follow established safety rules and regulations

Regular scheduled attendance

Occasional travel to customer’s site for fabrication

Maintains responsibility for all tools and equipment assigned to the group

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

2-5 years proven experience as polisher

Knowledge of polishing and finishing the following materials; Aluminum, Mild Steel, and Stainless Steel

Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

Solid math skills to interpret drawings and specs to materials and measurements

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings (blueprints, schematics)

Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines

Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate via email, document daily work and progress, and track procurements and status

Excellent hand-eye coordination

Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety

Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

Proficient in English

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers

Stand Out

At least five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in a combination of two or more skilled trades including knowledge of and ability to use tools materials and methods

OSHA 10-hour safety course
