- System maintenance, including upgrades and patching. This includes communication with vendors to be aware of upcoming releases, perform impact assessments of releases and testing releases in PCORI’s test environment prior to coordinating the release of patches and/or upgrade to PCORI’s production environment.
- System improvement. System Administrator will work in conjunction with other System Operations staff proposing improvements to Systems supported by System Operations. These improvements may be at the behest of the system stakeholders or may be self-generated in the interest of system stability or improved function based on an understanding of stakeholder needs. The System Administrator will work with vendors to implement improvement plans and communicate improvement requests to vendors to include in future road map.
- System Implementation. The System Administrator will, at times, take the technical lead in new system implementation projects. This will include becoming familiar with the system, determine best practices based on vendor recommendations and PCORI’s specific requirements. The System Administrator will be asked to participate in requirements defining with departmental stakeholders. The System Administrator may be asked to participate in QA of the product as part of the release process. The System Admin will be integral in deployment and post-deployment activities including the “hyper-care” period of support.
- System Administration. System Administrator will be responsible for ongoing administration of multiple systems, including user setup, password resets, profile configurations, and other system configuration changes as needed by the PCORI staff.
- System Support. System Administrator will be responsible for addressing any escalated system issues from the Help Desk ranging from individual issues to system outages. The System Administrator will be responsible for updating any tickets they are assigned with status and closure information. The System Administrator will be responsible for escalating issues to system vendors and maintaining updates from the vendor until the issue is resolved. This may include the need to write up root cause analysis and countermeasure proposals.
- The System Administrator should have 10+ years of experience supporting a range of Systems both “in house” (locally hosted) and remote (vendor hosted).
- The System Administrator should have 5+ years of experience as the primary administrator for one or more system.
- The System Administrator should have 5+ years of experience in a SAAS environment.
- The System Administrator should have 10+ years of experience administering multiple systems including HR, Financial, Training, and Contract Lifecycle/Procurement systems.
- The System Administrator should have experience in Agile environments and have experience working with the Software Development Lifecycle.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred. Experience in the Not-for-Profit environment is preferred, but not required.
