Our Client, a leading provider of analytical equipment and services, is currently seeking candidates for a full-time Assistant Controller. This individual will be responsible for providing support to the Controller, CFO, and Business Leaders in all aspects of accounting, with an emphasis on financial statement preparation and analysis.   • Supervise a team of 3 Accounting staff
  • Monitor and review the month-end closing process and closing journal entries ensuring timely, accurate and complete work
  • Review all balance sheet reconciliations and trial balance detail monthly to ensure that all revenues and expenses are recorded according to GAAP
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including budget variance analysis, on time for Controller to review monthly
  • Review the work of Finance Department staff, coordinate corrections and make process improvement recommendations to the Controller
  • Coordinate with the Controller to schedule annual external audits, delegate and distribute incoming requests, review work and manage communications
  • Approve purchase requisitions in accordance with the purchasing policy
  • Assist the Controller in the preparation of annual budgets
  • Work with Managers to understand annual project budgets; monitor budget variances and calculate reforecasted spend; Create and monitor monthly resource planning estimates
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Familiarity with Accounting Software
  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • High level of proficiency with Excel spreadsheets
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP
Preferred
  • Masters Degree and/or CPA
  • Experience supervising direct reports
