This role is remote during Covid - 19
Responsibilities:- Responsible for billing and completing monthly invoices for government contracts in compliance with contractual and FAR regulations for FFP, T&M, and Cost-Plus contracts
- Process and submit invoices in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring invoices are in compliance with appropriate contracts, guidelines and regulations
- Review of contracts for key terms and set up in the Costpoint 7 to ensure correct billing and revenue recognition
- Analyze revenue reports and project status reports (PSRs) during the invoicing process to understand and communicate unbilled balances and ensure correct revenue recognition
- Maintain a billing tracker and ensure monthly reconciliation of billed and unbilled accounts and accruals to the general ledger
- Communicate with Project Managers to ensure billing data is flowing through and reflected correctly on the customer invoice
- Assist with the collection process
- Troubleshoot and resolve any billing issues with PM's and Customer POC's
- Assist with the month-end close process and the annual audit and complete various reports
- Assist with reporting quarterly GSA and IFF fees
- Serve as the backup for various team members
- Participate in special projects, as needed
- Strong understanding and knowledge using Costpoint 7
- Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently by prioritizing and managing multiple priorities with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar. Experience may be counted in lieu of degree
- 3 years government contracting accounting experience specifically with the accounts receivable/billing function
- Experience using Cognos
- Experience using SharePoint
- Strong understanding of FAR and DCAA compliance rules and regulations
