We have an immediate position available for a Model Risk Management Professional to support the Enterprise Model Risk Team of one of our large financial institution clients. The project involves mediating findings from regulators related to model risk reporting. In this role you will create project plans and work with model risk related reporting. This role is a blend of model risk management and project management.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Model Risk Management and model documentation
  • Build and manage project plans for the remediation of regulator findings.
  • Communicate risk management priorities to financial modelers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address due diligence requests from institutional investors and 3rd party partners.
  • Review and effectively challenge internally developed or vendor models across the business.
  • Manage and improve model risk governance processes and procedures to ensure high standard and compliance of regulatory requirements.
  • Help address inquiries from regulators and control functions (e.g. audit, risk management and legal) and provide supports to remediate identified risks.
  • Run various ad-hoc analyses relating to risk management initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of experience with model risk management and development, validation or governance of statistical, economic, financial or mathematical models for a bank, or within a GSE, or in an advisory firm working with same.
  • Knowledge of quantitative risk management and supervisory guidance on Model Risk Management OCC 2011-12/SR 11-7.
  • Excellent project management skills, database knowledge and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to write model documentation clearly and concisely and support findings with reasonable foundations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely on technical and business topics.
  • Attention to detail, dedicated, willing to take extra efforts.
  • Strong experience with 2nd line of defense in model risk management.
  • Strong understanding of the model validation process.
  • Experience as an effective fact-based challenger.
  • Experience with model governance and determination of the accuracy of execution on the risk appetite.
  • Ability to assess the model calculations and data.
  • Experience understanding and analyzing quantitative data.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Financial Engineering, or Business preferably with an emphasis on quantitative risk or valuation modeling
