Accountant for growing company

Title: Accountant

Reports to: Controller

Location: Anchorage, AK

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

Small growing business is looking to hire an Accountant.

The Accountant is primarily responsible for full payroll processing as well as assists with daily accounting functions and other related projects as assigned below. Also performs operations support as required including but not limited to the following outline of duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Processing of cash payments

Ensure supporting documentation for payment requests are in balance and properly submitted & approved for payment

Record deposited cash receipts, transfers, etc.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations

Process payroll & set up employee information in accounting systems from authorized information

Responsible for all aspects of payroll & knowledgeable of all required payroll laws & thresholds annually

Reconcile all payroll liability accounts monthly

Responsible for preparing, reconciling, & reporting all quarterly, annual payroll & accounts payable tax related reports for timely filing

Run reports as requested by internal & external customers

Maintain organized filing system for all accounts payable and payroll records

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS (or candidate) in Accounting or Business; or four years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must be able to successfully pass a background verification process.

Experience with QuickBooks and Excel preferred
