Most of the candidates that were submitted were geared heavily towards design even though comments said manufacturing. Role & Responsibilities Plan and lead the prototype assembly production using the customer Production System. Study new models and spec./manage prototype assembly process tooling to accommodate new structure Assure quality of prototype vehicle at each stage of assembly. Clarify and analyse the cause of prototype build problems. Work directly with vehicle design and evaluation engineers to determine root cause and countermeasure. Our Prototype Development Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Engineer to be responsible of all aspects of prototype parts and body production for Technical center. Includes but not limited to quoting, sourcing, CAD and parts list confirmation, scheduling, quality control, supplier management and develop Prototype Development engineers. The primary responsibility of this role is to Lead assigned prototype in-house weld tooling/process in conjunction with Technician management. Lead assigned supplier weld and paint processes and coordinate required improvements with supplier project manager. Reporting to the Prototype Sr. Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Prototype Development department's objective to develop / manage responsible processes and suppliers to output good quality vehicles to end users.Responsibilities Manage assigned proto supplier / in house tooling. Develop/manage Operation Plan for In-house Process / Tooling. Develop bid package and project scope of work. Develop /manage weld fixture datum structure for all body parts. Travel to customer production facility /local suppliers to review parts and build strategy. Summarize status and report to upper management weekly. Track and resolve quality problems during production. Conduct project reflection after vehicle build is complete.Education & Exp : Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Proficient with 3D CAD with design capability (CATIA / C3) Deep knowledge of welding (spot welding for steel and aluminum/mig). +2 year of automotive industry background.
