Job TitleTurf ExtrusionTesterPosition OverviewPosition Objective: Performs testing on certain physical properties of Turf yarn to insure allyarn products are consistent with quality standards.Essential Duties (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill,judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):Note: Specific requirements for the job can be found in the associate job procedures.1. Audits schedules and verifies information on the schedule at the beginning of the shift.2. Pulls samples of yarn for specified tests and uses prescribed sampling cycle outlined forthe Turf Extrusion area.3. Performs testing based on instructions given by yarn technical and the turf processengineer on the ERP (Experimental Run Process) generated in the MDM System andprocess specification sheet.4. Identifies and documents all non-conformances and follows all SMS procedures whereapplicable.5. Performs physical properties tests and rechecks/recalls on Turf Extrusion lines in a timelymanner as required.6. Insures all packages brought to the lab for testing are properly identified.7. Records all lot information, test results, irregularities, and communicates it to the properproduction personnel.8. Audits all yarns tested for color consistency (visual), correct labeling, damage, and otherquality problems.9. Communicates with other shifts the status of yarn testing, special checks, or anyproblems with the yarn.10. Performs tests on standard packages.Performs steps per the SPC guidelines as outlined for the department.12. Completes test sheets and enters data into the computer.13. Assists in the performance of routine visual color checks as requested.14. Performs special tests, documenting and communicating results to proper personnel.15. Responsible for initiating the on Hold procedure.16. Responsible for trouble shooting lab equipment and notifying appropriate personnel.17. Pulls suspect packages from bale, repacks quality yarn, and labels correctly.18. Performs housekeeping for Lab area as required.19. Complies with procedures found in Shaw Management System (SMS).20. Actively participates in the Quality P.R.I.D.E. Process.21. Performs all job duties using safe work methods.22. Complies with Corporate Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy.23. Complies with S.A.F.E. System procedures.24. Works normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Works overtimeas required.

Must be able to ascend and descend stairs/ladders as required.4. Must be able to lift packages weighing up to twelve (12) pounds as required.Other Requirements:Must make an acceptable score on the Color Test.2. Must possess good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.3. Must be able to work rotating shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.4. Must perform any other job duties as assigned by supervision.

Training Requirements:1. Must attend a one (1) day orientation training session familiarizing new associates withthe Plant and basic procedures.2. Must attend Quality/Safety training as required.3. Must participate in an on the job training session familiarizing the new associates withtheir job duties.Tool, Equipment, & Material Requirements:1. Must be responsible for safety equipment issued including safety glasses and ear plugs.2. Must be responsible for equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to perform assignedtasks.Safety & Security Requirements:1. Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.2. Must report any unsafe conditions to supervision.3. Must report all accidents no matter how slight to supervision immediately.4. Must wear personal protective equipment as required while on the job.5.
