ResponsibilitiesThe Geospatial/GIS Data Manager will provide expertise in Geospatial/GIS information modeling, management, and requirement analysis in relation to public health data sets. This position will support tasks such as:• Manage data sets for the organization• Perform logical database design to support the development and testing of database schemas necessary to support small applications and complex projects that reside on database management systems• Support the deployment of mobile technologies, processes, and devices to gather spatially referenced data from the field to support public health investigation and practice• Design, develop, implement, and maintain spatially referenced data collection processes requiring data importation, data validation using manual reviews and/or automated processes, and data sharing mechanisms providing sharing of data and use of data by appropriate partners• Support data validation, manipulation, and/or preparation of public health and GIS datasets• Design processes and procedures to implement database indexing methods to optimize database performance• Mine data on large public health datasets to discover geospatial, temporal, and other types of patterns and trends

QualificationsRequires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.Qualifications Required:• 10+ years (or 5+ years with an advanced degree) of experience using GIS tools and techniques to analyze patterns and trends evident in public health data.• Experience researching and acquiring data for geospatial analyses.• Experience using GIS tools and techniques to analyze patterns and trends evident in public health data.• Experience designing, preparing, and managing GIS and general public health databases for integration within analysis, investigation, GIS systems, and surveillance.• Familiarity with developing automated routines for processing and altering large geospatial datasets to produce indices, metrics, and other databases for ongoing use.• Experience with loading, updating, and managing GIS and public health data.• Ability to support the development of data collection processes, techniques, and methodologies to collect, validate, and manipulate public health data.• Two (2) or more years of experience using ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal), ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, SDE• Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.• Experience supporting Public Health Agency is preferredEducation:• BS/BA or MS in Computer Science, Public Health, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related field.
