Geo Data Specialist IIQ Analysts is looking for a Geo Data Specialist with 5 years’ experience to collaborate and support GEO Data Operations for our Client. The primary focus is to assist with data processing and pipeline management for a large scale mapping and image processing team at global scale. In addition to data management, the role will also be responsible for support of day to day operations within projects and contributing to the overall program.Full Cycle Data Management:

  • Processing and analyzing global scale vector and raster datasets.
  • Monitor daily production and quality of data sets
  • Interpret data in order to recognize trends and potential problem areas
  • Experience with scripting for version control for commits/rollbacks is a plus
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration with teams to ensure data flows through the pipeline to production
Skills & Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute daily operations to ensure project goals are met
  • Interface with engineering teams to continually improve and automate overall operations process and expand technical knowledge and capabilities
  • Knowledge of open source geospatial tools like OSGEO (ogr, gdal), Shapely, Fiona, QGIS
  • Proficiency in analysis of GIS datasets (points with lat/long values, polygons, etc)
  • Proficient with Linux cmd line, familiarity with Google Docs, knowledge of SQL
  • Some experience writing scripts (e.g. Python, Bash AppScript)
Qualifications:
  • 4 year Bachelor's degree and relevant industry experience in GIS/Map is desired
  • Excellent organization skills and aeffectively which applies to both personal assignments as broader team projects and responsibilities
  • Detail-oriented; must be able to plan and execute tasks with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent technical communication skills; must be able to listen closely, record and promptly disseminate important operation details to members of the project team
  • Self-motivated, efficient, and dependable and thrives in a team environment
  • Flexible, team player; this position is very demanding, but is interesting and often fun
  • Excellent organization skills both as apply to personal assignments as well as the team
  • Impeccable integrity, honesty and transparency working in the team environment with a growth mindset
