- Provide support on Microsoft SQL and Windows Server sales opportunities brought forward by Insight AEs and SAEs. Provide engagement throughout the sales process, including: Discovery, client Q&A, project scope identification, signed contractual agreement, and project delivery.
- Serve as an expert Microsoft technical resource for the AE/SAEs and Sales Specialist overlays for a catalog of solutions, including but not limited to: Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server.
- Consult with internal/external clients on Microsoft related products and services. Build strong relationships with local Insight and Microsoft teams. Attend regular meetings.
- Work with AE/SAEs in assessing customer needs via conference calls, and email.
- Develop and present technically valid solutions to the end-user by utilizing Microsoft specific configuration tools. Conduct technology demonstrations and white boarding sessions with clients. Utilize MS PowerPoint for client presentations.
- Understand client's business objectives and technical needs in order to identify scope of the project and deduce the solution and delivery.
- Perform required research and investigation to identify and create thorough, accurate technical solution proposals based on client requirements.
- Attend key Microsoft events and training sessions.
- Maintain professional relationships with AEs/SAEs, Microsoft, and clients.
- Represents Insight in a professional and business-like manner and communicates effectively with Insight associates and stakeholders.
- Some travel required.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or related selling experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three-plus years of experience in positions related to Microsoft field sales and technical solutions support.
- Advanced level of understanding in Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server including complex technical licensing scenarios.
- Preferred: Completion of Microsoft technical/sales training & certification in relevant areas of technology, including: MCP/MCTS, MCSE, and more.
- Ability to effectively present information to clients.
- Ability to create detailed PowerPoint presentations.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex business and technical documents, including client Requests for Proposal.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to write effectively and professionally using original or innovative techniques or style.
- Ability to make effective and/or persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to clients, top management and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general, technical procedures, or regulations.
- Ability to write reports and/or business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively position, present and sell Microsoft solutions. Must be able articulate technical solutions in "scaled-down" manner to non-technical personnel.
- Ability to demo SQL and Windows Server products / solutions.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft technical tools related to sales proposal creation.
