Scheduling Analyst to join our team. OPPA seeks to meet NOAA space-based Earth and space weather observation requirements through the advancement of innovative projects, the implementation of evolutionary improvements to satellite systems, and the expansion of international space cooperation. This is a chance for someone to learn more about space weather observations and satellite operations and NOAA's impact to nation/world.This role is temporarily remote due to Covid. Responsibilities:- Support project managers and assigned personnel in developing and maintaining the Integrated Master Schedule.
- Interface between senior leadership, project managers, and team leads to gather scheduling input and adjust scheduling parameters
- Conduct bi-weekly and monthly updates of project schedules and prepare reporting decks for presentation during Monthly Status Review meetings.
- Track project progress and critical path on a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly basis. Provide schedule "look-ahead" analysis to leadership.
- Identify risks to the project and communicate with the Risk Manager during monthly project risk tag-ups
- Periodically share Scheduling Best Practices with team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools, including MS Project, Excel, Word
- Experience with Milestone Pro (a plus but not required)
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated organizational, and decision-making skills; and ability to propose possible resolutions to complex technical, managerial or operational problems
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 2 years of relevant experience required
- Have knowledge of NOAA satellite process and procedures is preferred. For instance, understanding the activities surrounding a satellite launch or transition of a ground system to operations helps ensure IMS accuracy and comprehensiveness and to identify any potential issues strongly preferred
