Technology Experience Required:
  • Intermediate to expert operational and administrative understanding of Linux operating systems
  • Working experience with point to point tcp dump initialization and diagnosis
  • Working experience with hypervisors
  • Working experience with storage administration
  • Working experience with backup and data protection practices
  • Working experience with container orchestration and administration systems
  • Working understanding of network routing and protocols

Essential Role Responsibilities:
  • Management and administration of development, test, and production environments.
  • Tier 2 or 3 escalation point for problem resolution (on-call rotation)
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
  • Administer and automate Infrastructure maintenance and patching
  • Curiosity to interrogate emerging technologies

Preferred Competencies:
  • Automating and streamlining operations and processes
  • Experience with a variety of open source technologies and tools
  • Strong grasp of automation tools
  • Contribute to the released product software by developing installation, deployment and management scripts
  • Network administrative and management skills (firewalls, load balancers, DNS, NAT)
  • Version Control (System) utilizing GIT in a team development environment
  • Understanding and efficiency in collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
  • Working collaboratively across teams to ensure consistent and performant approaches across all environments
  • Interacting directly with client project team members and operational staff to support live customer deployments
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, test and production environments
  • Supporting cloud deployments as needed
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Our office environment is set up as a collaborative, professional environment where we encourage open communications amongst teams. As System Administrator, you will periodically lead small teams on focused projects. Our position is located in Alpharetta, Georgia. Our two data centers are located in Atlanta, Georgia and Ashburn, Virginia. Some travel may be required to our data center locations and client meetings.Our standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Due to the nature of the System Administrator role, occasional evening and weekend work may be required
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivilant work experience
  • 2+ years relevant work experience in application development or operations support
  • Background in Linux / Unix Administration
  • Experience with automation / configuration management using workflow tools
  • Provision, configure and maintain cloud resources including server instances, load balancers, security groups, DNS management and certificates
  • A working understanding of programming and scripting languages (Ansible, Python, PowerShell)
  • Shell scripting (bash) skills are essential
  • Excellent written communication, problem solving and process management skills
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, evolving, growing, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations to maintain five-nines service availability
  • Experience with systems and IT operations
  • Understanding and focus on business outcomes
