We are seeking an established professional Controller, who will partner with our accounting team and site staff to provide leadership, support and oversight.

Our ideal candidate:

Accounting- responsible for the accounting operations, to include the production of periodic financial reports; maintenance of adequate system of accounting records; and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets.

Enhance the accuracy of the company’s financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Participate in the development of and support the company's strategic plans. Develop, implement & revise standard accounting procedures as needed.

Financial planning, coordination of annual budget preparation, supervision of A/R process and reporting, oversight of year-end tax package, work closely with outside CPA firms to complete tax returns for all entities.

Responsible for various approvals including: bank exceptions, wire approvals, monthly financial packages, incl. variance reports, lender financials, agency reporting (PM and financial), inspection requests (i.e. rent roll) & CA Escheat filing.

Owner work to include: oversight of replacement draws, draw schedules-cash and reserve analysis, initiate draw ACH/checks and expense distribution and related ACH entries. Liaison between owners and investors for quarterly financials and updates.

Supervision of Collections Manager/department and oversite of internal collections for the residential division

Responsible to create and distribute monthly residential owner’s reports.

Yardi Support- Resolve daily support requests for end users. Work closely with other team members to resolve technical issues related to Yardi software and integration with other Yardi applications.

Analyze user requirements, procedures, and support requests to automate or improve existing systems.

Create Yardi custom reports (Crystal, SSRA, Filldocs), Yardi custom analytics, Yardi account trees, Yardi report scheduler, Yardi email templates, constructions set up and Yardi custom tables for tenants (document tracking, in-house collection, payment return items, lease audit) and property (property and property management information/rental criteria).

Create letters, forms and notifications.

Assist with Yardi system configuration, business processes, maintenance, and system upgrades.

Preferred Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

Minimum 10 years accounting experience with at least 3 at controller level

Must have a background in Real Estate and or Property Management

Strong working knowledge of Yardi including experience as an administrator

Strong skill set of SQL Server Management Studio and understanding of relational databases

Yardi scripting language, SQL, or SSRS

Familiar with Yardi Database Schema

Exercise judgment, integrity and discretion involving confidential information

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Impeccable analytical and organizational skills

Self-motivated, self-directed and ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

Ability to work closely with the senior management team
