Payroll & Compliance Analyst If interested, please send an updated resume to and Location: Remote Pay: negotiable - based upon experience - paid weekly on a W2 Anticipated 5 month contract - with possible extensions/permanent potential Job Summary: We are looking for someone with hands on experience with payroll tax setups, closures, resolving notices, and compliance. We also would love a candidate with experience with acquisitions and agency reporting. This role is for an individual who will be working independently on projects and would partner with support teams to resolve compliance concerns and to update policies. This teammate should have experience with payroll tax, reporting, and relationships with external agencies being comfortable to correspond via phone, email, letter, or fax. The payroll tax and compliance analyst would work directly for the Senior Manager, Payroll Job Duties:

  • Handle monthly audits for teammate building and state accuracy.
  • Handle monthly audits of local taxes.
  • Address mail as it comes in, sending to ADP to handle, or addressing and resolving issue on own.
  • Assist in tax or compliance related projects for US and Canada by partnering with HR, Legal, IT, and Payroll teams.
  • Acquisition Support
  • Handle all payroll tax duties due to an acquisition.
  • Closing acquired companies unemployment, withholding, and local taxes.
  • Resolving old variances and fees for account closures.
  • Complete transfer paperwork for each state to ensure unemployment rates are adjusted and accounts reflect mergers.
  • Open new local or state taxes due to new additions.
  • Research and track new buildings and update multi site, employer taxes, and reference material as needed.
  • Ensure all records and reporting are captured for payroll needs for acquisitions.
  • Review tax credit options for acquisitions
  • Quarterly Multi Site Reporting to Department of Labor
  • Quarterly Workers Comp Reports and Payments for Ohio and Washington
  • Quarterly Modified Business Tax Reports and Payments for Nevada
  • Pull documents for tax department for audits and tax credits
  • Annual R&D Credit requires w2s and state assignment and wage data
  • Adhoc audits for each state as needed.
  • Setup new state or local taxes with ADP and with local agency as needed.
  • Close state or local taxes with ADP and local agency as needed.
  • Provide tax guidance for state changes or new local taxes.
  • Work with payroll on guidance on local tax setup specifics.
  • Work with Legal and HR on state specific legislation that impacts payroll (MA Garden Leave, COVID CA supplemental sick time, Seattle Washington Employer Tax).
  • Year End review and collection of updated tax forms for new year.
  • Annual review of teammates claiming exempt to ensure receipt of new tax form.
  • Assist in other audits as identified by the management for accuracy and compliance.
  • Gather information for annual workers compensation audit.
  • Gather information for annual 401K audit.
  • Gather information for annual wage reporting for HR teams.
