Applications Developer for an opportunity in Augusta, Georgia.

What you will be doing:
  • Responsible for analysis, design, programming, and implementation of complex applications tasks and projects.
  • Devise feasible, logical procedures to resolve business problems through the use of computer resources.
  • Formulate scope and objectives through research to develop or modify complex systems.
  • Review detailed specifications and recommend modifications.
  • Design, code, test and debug complex application programs.
  • Write, maintain and support Windows forms and web document management related applications.
  • Writing, maintaining and supporting windows forms and web applications that connect to a MS SQL Server Database while working as a team member and switching context when the team needs to swarm around an impediment or escalation.
  • May write or modify inline SQL or Stored Procedures.
  • Attend and actively participate in the daily meeting.
  • Mentor and assist less experience team members.

  • The primary toolset is C#.Net and MS SQL Server.
  • Is able to express and discuss issues and potential solutions with the team is critical as the team is moving towards and agile Kanban process.
  • able to deal with frequently changing priorities and working closely with others.
  • As the team supports several poorly documents older applications, some level of independent research may be necessary, but it is equally important to seek help when needed.
  • We are not a typical head's down focus on a single deliverable for weeks or months development environment.
  • The team is DevOps and is moving towards Kanban, so team interaction is critical. There will be daily interaction with management and occasional interaction with senior management and customers in our matrixed organization.

What you will need:
  • 6 years of technical experience with application development, systems testing, analysis, design, or programming, AND
  • Education/equivalency (one of these):
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or other job-related field;
    • OR, Associate’s degree in the above, plus 2 years of job-related experience;
    • OR, Six additional years of job-related work experience (total of 10 years of job-related experience without a degree)
  • Recent C#.Net development experience (Last 2-3 years minimum)
  • Proficient with SQL, experience with Windows Forms applications.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to mentor teammates who are at the lower level
  • Some experience with ASP web development would be nice to have
  • A ship is required for this role, due to the area you will be assigned

Professional skills:
  • Comprehensive understanding of applications/development, quality assurance and integration methodologies, concepts and facilities in a mainframe, midrange, and/or PC/LAN environment.
  • Demonstrates a high level of technical proficiency in the areas of programming languages, platform capabilities, and methods of systems analysis and program design.
  • Excellent analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates logical abstract thinking and assimilating/adhering to project goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of interpersonal skills/team building.
  • Familiar with project management concepts.
  • Ability to assess requirements, alternatives, and risks/benefits for low- to high-impact projects.
  • Pays attention to detail. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, vendors etc. In-depth understanding of organizational functions, behavior, and inter-relationships.
