Database Administrator (Sybase)12 month contract to hire

Rate: up to $60/hr W2

Location: Remote for now - candidates can be in Alpharetta, GA or Arlington, VAPrimary skills are still Sybase DBA experience with strong scripting skills for automation (Shell/Python)

Keys:
  • Sybase IQ or Oracle DBA experience or SQL / T-SQL
  • Willingness to support Sybase 50% of the time
  • Strong scripting experience in Python or Shell
  • Interested in converting perm down the line

  • Provide guidance and support to Application Developers
  • Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
  • Install, tune, implement and upgrade DBMS installations
  • Write and deploy SQL patches
  • Upgrade and improve application schema and data upgrades
  • Process work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Always paying attention to the detail
  • Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements
  • Collate, prepare and present statistical information for internal and external use
