The primary purpose of this role is to perform underwriting and risk analysis, loan portfolio quality management activities, underwriting administration, to include financial statement tracking, and participate in professional development and special projects.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Loan Production and Credit Analysis

    • Perform underwriting and risk analysis for new commercial loan requests by preparing/reviewing financial spreads, Risk Grade Worksheets, and Commercial Real Estate Risk Rater, as assigned by Portfolio Managers

    • Prepare new commercial loan request presentations, submit to Portfolio Managers for quality control review

  • Loan Portfolio Quality Management

    • Perform underwriting and risk analysis for commercial loan renewals by preparing/reviewing financial spreads, Risk Grade Worksheets, and Commercial Real Estate Risk Rater, as assigned by Portfolio Managers

    • Perform/review loan Covenant Testing calculations

    • Prepare commercial loan renewal presentations, submit to Portfolio Managers for quality control review

    • Prepare commercial loan Annual Review presentations, submit to Portfolio Managers for quality control review

  • Underwriting Administration

    • Maintain financial statement tracking system (currently Financial Logs) to ensure timely and accurate request and collection of financial statements and other source documents required for underwriting

    • Maintain accurate and organized financial statement imaging system

  • Professional Development and Special Projects

    • Complete education, as identified or as assigned, that provides expertise in loan underwriting, credit analysis, and overall professional development

    • Serve, when requested, on special teams and projects across the organization.

Education and Work Experience Includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in commercial credit analysis and/or similar field, depending upon demonstrated abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of credit administration, policy, and procedures

  • Advanced knowledge of economics, accounting, and finance

  • Advanced knowledge of risk analysis and mitigation

  • Advanced technical report writing skills and knowledge

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
