Our Fortune 500 Media Client is seeking a Senior Project / Program Manager for a long term contract engagement. The Senior PM will manage a team of resources (matrixed and directs) to collect, consolidate, analyze, and present our client's Technology's bi-monthly synergy submission. A successful candidate must have the ability to establish structure when it does not exist and be able to manage large volumes of data. A strong understanding of accounting principles, and advanced skills with excel (graphs, data manipulation, analysis) and power point is required. The Synergy Submission Lead will work with and present to executive stakeholders (i.e VPs, SVPs, and EVPs). Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or more lines of business
  • Liaise with Steering committees, Tech Leads, VPs, Directors, Technology Integration Management Office (TIMO), Tech Finance, project sponsors and strategic partners
  • Provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Manage all aspects of related portfolio's and initiatives to ensure the overall synergy submission is aligned with and directly supports client's Technology's strategic objectives.
  • Manage and lead project teams consisting of internal / external resources regardless of location
  • Track and report progress toward meeting synergy targets as applicable using TIMO processes/procedures
  • Communicate roles and responsibilities of the project team
  • Manage project risks and issues from inception to closure, and leverage stakeholder/exec support as needed.
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources, and chairs the project management team meetings
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
  • Act as an advocate for Technology Integration Management Office (TIMO) in applying methodology, processes and tools for adopting best practices for Project delivery
  • Manage project scope and changes through the change management process. Manage Change Control for project artifacts and ensure documentation is stored and managed centrally, and shared/available as appropriate to the project team. For SOX compliance projects, TIMO should be informed.
  • Manage process improvement initiatives assessing current and future state solutions contributing to improving the success of the Project Portfolio.
  • Act as an internal quality control check for the synergy submission; apply thorough stage gating throughout all phases of a project to driving consistency, where applicable.
  • Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation, as needed.

Requirements:
  • At least 7 years of demonstrated Project / Program Management experience managing a portfolio of complex initiatives that spans multiple lines of business.
  • 7+ years of strong Project Delivery experience with strong knowledge in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Major Consulting firm (Deloitte, Accenture, E&Y, etc)
  • Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) experience is a huge plus
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with Steering committees, EVPs, SVPs, VPs, Directors, project sponsors and strategic partners.
  • Proven success in a Project Management leadership role, managing large projects approximately ($1-2 million), with a fortune 500 consulting company.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage all phases of a project throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability in leading/driving project teams; 10+ on/off shore resources.
  • Proven success in providing on site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Established practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expend and mature these capabilities for the organization.
  • Excellent experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, SDLC / Waterfall.
  • Established track record in defining success criteria, metrics, test and deployment management methodologies.
  • Possess strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish creditability, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
  • Ability to communicate on both a functional and technical level with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Managed process improvement initiatives assessing current and future state solutions contributing to improving the success of the Project Portfolio.
  • Act as an internal quality control check for all projects; stage gating and specifically test and deployment management activities across the Portfolio driving consistency.
  • Tools: MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; PPM Tools - Clarity or ServiceNow
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Systems or related IT field required and equivalent work experience.
  • PMI Certified or Consulting background preferred
