UU Church Community Organizer Consultant

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lansing (UU Lansing) seeks a part-time Community Organizer Consultant for 1 year, beginning in February 2021. The Community Organizer will work to support the grassroots efforts of the UU Lansing community around issues of social justice, focusing in 2021 on the issue of prison reform. The Community Organizer will work to create structures for institutionalizing community engagement for social justice. Through partnerships with the Open MI Door coalition and Citizens for Prison Reform, the Community Organizer will engage with the interfaith community, leading efforts for the piloting of safe therapeutic cell spaces and the need to end segregation/solitary confinement.
