NGDS seeks and experienced DOC Systems Administrator with working knowledge of engineering concepts and principles for developing PowerShell scripts to assist the 24/7 team with streamlining repetitive tasks. This self-driven professional will be part of the 24/7 team to address priority 1 issues and work tickets as assigned. This team uses a variety of tools and processes to monitor performance and availability of all nodes and network infrastructure for multiple datacenters. This role is the first line of support for system outages across the data centers. Team members triage outages to determine symptoms, possible root cause and the proper team to escalate the issue to if necessary. This professional must have proven ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and have a working knowledge of Active Directory and Group policy.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Receive and troubleshoot Priority 1 system outages
- Troubleshoot system administrative related hosting outages.
- Work independently or with the team to resolve outages.
- Report outages and issues to data center leadership and program teams.
- Support resolution of Tier 1-3 trouble tickets as assigned.
- Perform software updates and patches as necessary.
- Use VMWare to reboot, take snaps and revert snaps.
- Manage Active Directory, group policy and Account issues
- Automating repetitive tasks using PowerShell and Batch Scripting.
- Ability to understand and modifying existing power shell scripts as needed.
- 5+ years of experience in Windows System Administration required
- B.S. Degree in IT related field or ability to recognize and clearly report relevant information with 5 years/ experience in a related technical or business capacity
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge to resolve routine issues
- Experience safely updating and patching libraries and applications
- Experience using PowerShell to write scripts to solve repetitive tasks.
- Secret clearance or higher preferred
- 8570 compliance (Active Security and OS certifications)
- Working knowledge of software tools supporting Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, defect reporting and scripting
- Ability to be creative, innovative and responsible, and able to master good decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of Active Directory.
- Working knowledge of Group Policy.
- Working knowledge of ports and their function.
- Preferred experience using Atlassian Tool suite (JIRA, Confluence), ITSM, or SolarWinds
