One year of relevant professional cooking required. Must be comfortable in a kitchen. Applicants will be considered for all Food and Beverage locations based on need, skills, experience and ability as necessary. Additionally, applicants must be able to ski/snowboard at an intermediate level to/from certain restaurant locations. A post job offer, pre-employment on-snow ski/snowboard assessment is required for positions at Rendezvous Saddle and Four Points Lodge.

Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:
Prepares various foods under supervision for restaurants and banquets
Prepares food to the specifications of the Chef
Set up station in preparation for work shift, cooking products according to preparation requests and Chef’s requirements
Take responsibility for the product used in his/her station and manage it to assure a quality product
Organize work area to create efficiency and keep work area and kitchen organized and clean
Rotate product and keep a clean station, properly store food in correct and allotted areas
Assist in the cleaning/organizing all storage areas, clean and/or organize walk in refrigerators and freezers
Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures, report all observations of damaged/ dangerous equipment; Will attend food safety/sanitation training and practice those techniques
Maintain daily communications with Chefs, demonstrate teamwork and co-operation with service staff
Takes direction from: Chefs, Sous Chefs, Cook 4’s and outlet managers, demonstrate teamwork and cooperation with service staff
Receive food and properly store in correct and allotted areas
Follows outlined recipes and plating guides to provide consistent product
Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
Other duties, as assigned

Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:
Must be comfortable working with a variety of kitchen equipment and be able to adhere to Steamboat Culinary Guidelines
One year of relevant professional cooking experience in resort facilities OR a combination of education and experience from which-comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
Expected to interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company’s Service Excellence standards

Physical Requirements:
Must stand for long periods of time and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Understand and speak English
Must have the capacity to read, understand and follow recipes and standards
Must be minimum 18 years of age

Miscellaneous information:
This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay
Position requires working weekends and holidays as needed

Pursuant to county and/or state orders and company policies, every employee is required to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, practice social distancing, wash hands frequently, wear a mask per current guidelines, self-report and call in immediately and stay home if sick and assist with sanitizing and disinfecting work areas. Employees must follow all resort mitigation plans and protocols, which can be found posted on resort buildings and on Beekeeper

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base hourly pay rate: $14.00 per hour
